Privacy information

Last updated: 10 October 2026

WattWise SA is an electricity cost calculator. This page explains what happens to information when you use it.

Calculator inputs

Appliance names, wattage, quantities, hours, days and the electricity rate are processed in your browser to calculate the estimate. The calculator does not send these values to WattWise SA, save them to an account, or store them in a database.

Website requests

Like other websites, the hosting provider may receive standard request information such as your IP address, browser details and the files requested to deliver the page and protect the service. Check the hosting provider’s privacy information for details about its handling and retention.

The page currently loads typefaces from Google Fonts. A browser may contact Google’s font service to retrieve them. You can use browser privacy controls or block that request; the page will fall back to system fonts.

External tariff links

If you open a tariff source link, you leave WattWise SA and visit the relevant utility or municipality website. That website has its own privacy practices.

Advertising and analytics

WattWise SA has added the Google AdSense code for site verification. No WattWise ad units, affiliate links or analytics are configured in the site code yet. If Auto ads is enabled in the AdSense account, Google may display ads and use cookies or similar identifiers to deliver, measure or personalise them. Affiliate links may let a partner attribute a visit or purchase to WattWise SA. Those third parties have their own privacy practices. We will update this notice before enabling additional tools.

For information about commercial relationships, see our advertising and affiliate disclosure.
